Teacher at Newmarket school explains the process she uses for selecting apps to use in her classroom.
On our iPads we had 55 apps, whether they were free or downloaded, or bought apps. During my process of the inquiry, I decided that I was going to be quite selective as to which apps I was going to use depending on where my learning needs were in class and what I wanted to achieve with them, so I selected six apps. Moving the children to the next level of thinking and being able to create and so I did set up a SOLO rubric alongside my inquiry and seeing if a child was able to use one app or two apps, or whether they were able to create with that app and being able to reflect and see where their learning outcome was.
