Grok Academy and CORE Education have created Cyber Skills Aotearoa, a programme to develop cyber security skills and dispositions in ākonga in Years 6-13. Cyber Skills Aotearoa consists of classroom ready activities and challenges that could be used within Hangarau Matihiko | Digital Technologies programmes and to raise awareness of cyber security careers. Following the Information Privacy and Security (Years 9-13) course released earlier this year, two new courses are now available and free for schools to use:
Information Privacy and Security (Years 6-8)
Designed specifically for primary school students in years 6 to 8, this course presents the concepts of sharing information and securing passwords and accounts through a series of conversations with the characters from a fictional social media world.
