The Education and Science Committee has reported to the House on its inquiry into 21st century learning environments and digital literacy, chairperson Nikki Kaye announced today. The report can be found on the New Zealand Parliament website at http://www.parliament.nz/en-NZ/PB/SC/Documents/Reports/
"The inquiry has been carried out over the last 8 months, and has come to fruition with the help of a number of high quality submissions from a variety of sources," the chairperson said.
"The committee's report contains 48 recommendations which all members of the select committee have agreed as a baseline."
"The report acknowledges that the education sector is changing significantly as result of new technologies and access to the internet. This report concludes that significant change is required across government if our learners and teachers are to take full advantage of the digital learning resources available to them."
