Hello, my name is Te Mako Orzecki (English translation of Māori).

Explanation of Te Ara Whītiki – He whakamāramatanga o te ingoa ‘Te Ara Whītiki’

Ko te tikanga o te ingoa Te Ara Whītiki i ahu mai i ngā wā o mua.

The origins of the name Te Ara Whītiki are taken from days gone by (English translation of Māori).

I te wā i raru te Māori, ka whītiki atu ia ki ētahi tangata matatau kia whai māramatanga,

In traditional times Māori communities would connect with people who had different expertise (English translation of Māori).

kia eke ki ngā  taumata ako, kia whakatakoto hoki i tētahi ara kōkiri whakamua.

to solve problems, attain levels of understanding,  and chart pathways forward, (English translation of Māori).

Mā reira, e tū kaha ai te whānau, te hapū, me te iwi.

thus strengthening the family and their communities (English translation of Māori)..

What we do – Ā mātou mahi 

He tīma kaitohutohu, kaitakawaenga Māori tā mātou e āhei ana ki te tautoko i ngā kura Māori,

We have a group of Māori facilitators and advisors who are able to support Māori schools (English translation of Māori).

ngā wharekura, me ngā whānau rūmaki, puta noa i Aotearoa.

Secondary schools and immersion units throughout New Zealand (English translation of Māori)..

E matatau ana mātou ki te reo Māori me ōna tikanga,

We are well versed in the Māori language and its customs (English translation of Māori),

kia tohutohu i ngā pouako me ngā tumuaki

and are able to provide advice to Principals and senior leadership teams (English translation of Māori).,

kia whakamahere rautaki ahu whakamua mō te kura.

in planning strategic pathways forward for the school (English translation of Māori)..

Ka mārama hoki mātou me pēhea te whakamahi i ngā momo hangarau matihiko hei tautoko i ā tātou tamariki, mokopuna.

We also understand and are versed in using digital technologies to support our children and grandchildren (English translation of Māori).. 

Who is this service for? -Mā wai tēnei ratonga?
E wātea ana tēnei ratonga e noho ana ki raro i te marumaru o te kāwanatanga o Aotearoa.

This service is available to schools that fall under government provision (English translation of Māori)..

Kāore he utu mō tēnei ratonga, ā, nā te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga te pūtea tautoko.

There is no cost to use this service as the Ministry of Education covers this (English translation of Māori)..
